Throughout my travels, I’ve had the opportunity to travel with others and I had the opportunity to travel alone. I found my solo trips to be quite liberating in more ways than one. Many people are afraid to travel alone, but I am here to tell you how it can be good for the soul. Here are a few things you might discover and my reasons why solo travel nothing less than liberating:
-
You have the freedom to choose how you want to travel
Usually when you travel with others, you will have a different travel style or difference of opinion on how you want to travel. You have to decide together on a place to stay, how to get there, which method of transportation to use, and what to do in general. When you travel solo, all those choices are yours, and yours only. You have the freedom to choose how you want to travel and what you want to do.
-
Time is in your favor
When you travel solo, you will find that you have more time. How you choose to spend your extra time is up to you. You can manage your time according to what works best for you, and will not have to worry about waiting on others or deciding on ways to spend your time.
-
You will find that you are in great company
The best thing about solo travel, is that you will begin to learn more about yourself. You will have more time to yourself to take in all the experiences of travel. You will begin to feel stronger and more confident for doing so. After all, the person you will be spending the most time with is you. And you will find that you are in pretty good company.
